March 2010 Lincoln, NE

The Lincoln Friendship Force were hosts to a wonderful tour of the central and northern regions of Nebraska. After visiting the state capitol and two museums in the Lincoln area, we took a three-day bus trip through central and northern Nebraska to visit the Ashfall Fossil Beds, watch the prairie chickens’ mating dance at the Switzer Ranch in the north central Nebraska Sandhills, and view the sandhill crane Spring migration on the Platte River near Kearney, Nebraska. Other highlights of the trip were visits to the Nebraska Museum of Art, the Great Platte River Road Archway and dinner at the traditional Czech town of Wilber.
